I refuse to eat this!

Have ya’ll encountered this?

img_0618I just can’t forced myself to eat it.

When Ryan saw it he said,

‘oh, is that because there was a baby chicken in there and it died so we could eat it and that’s the left over blood?’

Sisterly Love

Some of you have obviously noticed the…exchanges…that go on between my sister and I.  Most of you know we are kidding and we just have that sarcastic type of relationship but just in case you didn’t know I thought I’d let you know.

I love her more than my luggage!

teri-and-kelliThere, now it’s clear.

Now look what she brought me home from her cruise to Mexico.

A Cute chips and salsa bowl!

img_5287I love it!

Thanks, Teri!

That’s what I’m going to start calling myself, maybe just Snuffy for short.  Do you guys remember him from Sesame Street?   He was kinda like the Eeyore of the show. I liked him, actually I’d really like his eyelashes.

Anyway, that’s how I’ve been feeling lately, sore throat, stuffy nose, cough, fever, pounding head. Now I’m sounding like a NyQuil commercial. Uhhggg.

On the other hand our snow is melting and that makes me HAPPY!  We even got the kids bikes down and little sister could not have been happier!

The nice weather has made me want to finish decorating my main floor and here are a few of the things I’ve found.

I bribed The Mister while we were walking though Tai Pan the other day and I got to come home with this.  It’s nice to have a husband who’s button’s are really easy to push, as in push-over. ;)  Sure do love ya babe!  By the way, my mom and Nat also purchased this very same thing, when it’s cute, it’s cute, what can you do?

Then while walking through Loews I spotted this baby and I fell in love. Really, it’s the silliest thing that a 15″ tall wooden pear could make me so happy.

Right now it’s sitting above my cabinets that are still missing the crown molding. I’m working getting that up soon though.

I also picked up 2 of these side tables at Target and I really like them.

What I like more is that I saw them 3 months ago for $130! Ridiculous, I know. Then they went on clearance for $65. Still way to much for me.  I only paid $32! Yeah!  I have to sand them down and paint them but making this style would have been a lot of work so I’m really happy with them.

They have been sitting in my garage like this for over a week now. (along with that crown molding.)

If I could just get feeling better than they could be done in a few hours, but with the way I feel right now it’s probably gonna be another week of parking my car outside.

I also have 3 quilt tops sitting on my sewing table that need to be finished. I can’t though because my sewing table is sitting in the middle of my kitchen. Why? Well we are designing a Bar/Island and my sewing table is being used as a trial run of sorts.  We wanted to see how the flow of the kitchen would work and so far I’m really liking it.

It will be a cross between these-

73857_pe190636_s4This is from Ikea and the other side is a bar.

Mine will be enclosed with Bead Board and more of a rustic style like this.

Hopefully I’ll be able to show it off soon.

Happy Friday Everyone!

Hope it involves less nose blowing than mine!

Ok, so the winners are Melanie, Mindy and Rachel!

I made an executive decision and my sister isn’t in this game.

Well if you read her comment she states she does not like my hair flipped out.

I always flip my hair out! Thanks for telling me now that it looks dumb! Sheesh!

Then she goes and accuses me of stealing her clothes!

She is so out!

And just in case your wondering, yes we still fight like we are 15 and 19, well about clothes at least. ;)

Maybe if she whines at me enough I’ll make her something. maybe.

But now I’m really feeling the pressure!

What to make?

I could do something for you or for your girls.

You guys gotta tell me what you’d prefer, for you or for your kids.

Did I tell you went to Sears and bought me a Freezer.

Yeah, I’m very happy about it.

Now I can put my ice maker back in my freezer and I can open the door without fear of meat breaking my toes!

But here’s the thing-

Apparently purchasing a large freezer wasn’t enough for The Mister.

Apparently it is our job alone to keep the economy going.

Apparently his 2 year old 42″ TV isn’t full filling his manly TV needs.

Apparently we ‘needed’ another TV for upstairs.

Apparently The Mister is no longer allowed to go to Sears!

too bad i’ll be the only one watching it cause he gonna be at work, overtime, paying for it.  bet he didn’t think of that did he! ;)

i’m a brat, i know.

Megan posted this on her blog and I was number 2! Yeah!

Here’s how it works….. The first 3 people to leave a comment on this post will receive a hand made gift from me during this year. When and what will be a surprise. BUT, in order for you to leave a comment on my blog, you have to post this on your blog first. (That means that sometime during this year you will send a gift to 3 people as well.) Get it? So, the first 3 people to comment on this post will be the lucky ones! It’s a race!

Right now I’m super a little loopy. I took some mega pain medicine for my sore throat and fever because nothing was even touching the pain and now I’m shaky and chatting and can’t think for the life of me what I’m gonna make y’all but it will be fun!  Maybe I will take requests…

And this is for my sister and totally random- I’m sort of into curling my hair lately, you know like back in the 4th grade, uh huh. What do you think?

Quick & Easy Apple Pie

We have a love of Apple Pie at our house and I have a fantastic Recipe with Strudel topping but it takes me about 2 hours to make it.  Then I saw some pictures on flicker of mini apple pies and decided to to try them.  They turned out great so I decided to share.

1. I used the Pillsbury refrigerated pie crusts and rolled them out to about half as thin as they come. Then I used a mug about 5″ across to cut out the circles. I was able to get 6 out of one pie crust.  Line your cookie sheet with parchment paper for super easy clean up!

2. I used Wilderness Cinnamon and Spice Apple Pie Filling, that I’m pretty sure you can get at any grocery store.  I put 3-4 apple slices per circle. Don’t over fill them because it makes them hard to seal.  If you want you can add more cinnamon and sugar over your apples.  I didn’t but I will next time.

3.  Fold your crust over to make a half circle and use a fork to press and seal your edges.  Then sprinkle Cinnamon and Sugar over the tops.

4.  Then bake them at 350 degrees for about 20-25 minutes.

My kids thought they were so special getting there own ‘McDonald’s Apple Pies’.  (I did not realize I was coping McDonald’s)  No matter, they were delicious!

We also had some ice cream and topped the whole thing with a little Carmel.   So Good!

So Cute

I just came across the cutest shop on Etsy, Sarah Jane Studios.  I might love it just a little bit extra because I have a Sara (minus the h) Jane of my own.

Seriously though, her art is fabulous! I’m in love with everything in her shop and thinking about getting a few for my girls room.  Here are a few of my favorites-

You can also visit her blog here.  Isn’t she great!
